Morris Hospital

Morris General Hospital CCHSA (Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation) accredited, this 23-bed hospital provides emergency and medical care by qualified physician's, nurses and support workers. Other services accessible include lab & diagnostics, pharmacy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy consults, palliative care, mental health services, dietician consults, home care, public health and physician clinic.

RED RIVER VALLEY LODGE Located in Morris, this 40-bed personal care home provides professional resident centred care. The residents are cared for in a holistic and home like environment by caring staff. The scope of service include: provision of all activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and
feeding; medication administration, dressing changes and chronic care treatment; occupational therapy, activities, palliative care; access to dietician, physician and pharmacy services.

The "Red River Valley Health Foundation Inc." is a volunteer registered charitable organization whose mission is to raise and distribute funds for the provision of health care delivery at the Red River Valley Health Facilities. The Foundation provides funding for equipment that is not available through Manitoba Health as well as providing financial assistance for educational development of health professionals in the areas of medicine, nursing, pharmacy and social work. The Foundation sponsors a bursary to graduates at four schools in the area. This limited bursary program is available to assist students entering a health care related field for post secondary training. The Foundation works to develop awareness of its purpose including public donations, memorial gifts, planned giving, service clubs and community involvement, community outreach programs, as well as fund-raising events. The Foundation also participates with the Palliative Care Team to ensure safekeeping of funds raised or donated to assist with the non-funded delivery of Palliative Care services to the residents of the Red River Valley. Donations may be made toward a specific facility, program, or item, or can be made as a general gift or bequest, which will be utilized towards areas of the greatest need as determined in consultation with the employees of the Red River Valley Health Facilities.

PUBLIC HEALTH The Department of Public Health and Home Care Services are available within the community. A Medi-Chair store is located in town and is the local supplier for a variety of medical and rehabilitative products. Located in the Boyne Avenue Professional Center is the Morris Dental Center, the Morris Chiropractic Office and Mondesir Vision Services.

MORRIS AMBULANCE SERVICE The RHA-Central EMS Morris Station has two ambulances located within the community. These units are staffed with a full-time and casual department and generally trained to provide a high level of care. Staff from this station are also very active in providing educational services to the public outside of patient care. Those educational services include FNCPR, Farm Safety, Drivers Education/First Aid information and information sessions for the Emergency Response Information Kit- E.R.I.K.

MORRIS FIRE DEPARTMENT The twenty members of the Morris Volunteer Fire Department are fully trained to the standards of the Manitoba Fire Commission.


Morris RCMP Detachment

ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE Morris is served by a detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The detachment is divided into two departments; four members serve the town, performing general duties while seven members serve as Highway Patrol. The detachment has holding cells for adult, female and juvenile offenders and is computer linked with the Canadian Police Intelligence Center.
