Morris is concerned with the environment. We have a recycling program and we are also members of the Communities in Bloom program

Recycling Program

The Town of Morris has an active recycling program. Just have your recycling curbside by 7 a.m. on Thursday for guaranteed pickup by Red River Workshop. Please insert recyclables in garbage bags, no sorting is necessary.

The following is a list of recyclables that are accepted by Red River Workshop.

Aluminum Beverage Cans – Steel Cans
• Please remove labels, rinse and flatten if possible

Plastics
• Soft drinks, milk jugs, margarine, yogurt, plastic bags
• We do not accept plastics #3, #6 and motor oil containers.
• Please rinse, flatten if possible and remove all caps

Paper
• All newspapers, flyers, books, magazines, office paper.
• All cardboard (please flatten)
• Tetra-Pak Juice Boxes and Milk Cartons (Please empty and flatten)

Glass and Jars
• Whole bottles and jars only, please rinse and remove all caps.
• NO broken glass.

No garbage such as: Styrofoam, dirty paper plates and napkins, tissues, diapers, food scraps, etc.

We also have a drop off location: 3 RD Street (off Montreal Avenue West ) which is open 24 hours a day. 

GARBAGE
Garbage Pickup is on Wednesday mornings. Just have it curbside by 7:00 a.m. for guaranteed pickup.

For your information:

Did you know that the energy saved from recycling 1 aluminum can is enough to run your television for 3 hours.

If you want to discourage critters from going through your garbage before it is picked up, put a capful of Pine-Sol in the garbage bag before using it. Your pets will leave it alone.
